Explored some of Chicago’s most iconic backdrops, but these images will be traveling across the world to announce an incredible celebration: my couple’s wedding in India next year.
Every downtown Chicago engagement session tells a story and this one felt especially meaningful. Not only did we get to explore some of Chicago’s most iconic backdrops, but these images will be traveling across the world to announce an incredible celebration: my couple’s wedding in India next year.

We began our session at The Rookery Building, one of Chicago’s most breathtaking architectural treasures. With its sweeping staircases and historic charm, it offered the perfect setting for their first look. The groom-to-be started in a sharp black tuxedo, while the bride-to-be wore a stunning saree. Together, they brought a sense of timeless elegance and cultural beauty into this historic Chicago landmark.

Next, we moved outdoors to the Chicago Board of Trade. This area is one of my all-time favorite downtown locations for engagement photos. Surrounded by dramatic Art Deco buildings, the couple’s formal attire looked cinematic against the cityscape. The tall lines of the buildings framed them perfectly, creating that classic, editorial feel that Chicago is known for.

As the sun set, we finished the evening at the Wrigley Building. Here, the couple switched up their look for a more playful, yet still elegant vibe for their downtown Chicago engagement. The groom-to-be changed into a white tuxedo, tie undone for a relaxed, effortless style. The bride-to-be looked radiant in a short white dress with a statement bow in the back a modern, chic choice that made her glow against the twinkling lights of Michigan Avenue. Add in sunglasses and cigars, and the whole look was pure vintage-meets-classic cool.

Engagement sessions are about more than photographs. They’re about celebrating this in-between season of life, creating images that reflect your style and love story, and building memories that will last forever. For this couple, the images will serve as the first chapter of their wedding story, sent out on save-the-dates before their big celebration in India.
As a Chicago engagement and wedding photographer, sessions like these remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about capturing faces. It’s about capturing energy, personality, and love in the city I’m so proud to call home.
I take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure a deeply personalized experience. If you’re planning a wedding in Chicago or the Midwest and want photography that feels intentional, supportive, and emotionally true to your day, I’d love to hear about what you’re imagining.
