Every now and then, I walk into a venue and immediately feel inspired—and that’s exactly what happened the moment I stepped inside The Blackstone Hotel Chicago for a recent styled shoot. Nestled right on Michigan Avenue, this historic gem is more than just a Chicago wedding venue—it’s a celebration of timeless architecture, rich history, and understated luxury.

From the hand-carved woodwork and vintage chandeliers to the black-and-white checkered floors (yes, a photographer’s dream!), The Blackstone feels like a love letter to classic Chicago. A Chicago Wedding Venue Full of Rich Details & Old-World Luxury

The styled shoot I captured at The Blackstone Hotel was one of those experiences where everything aligned—beautiful florals, a couple styled in timeless elegance, and the most inviting atmosphere. The venue’s architecture did so much of the storytelling for me. I didn’t have to over-direct. I just leaned into the emotion, the movement, the quiet in-between moments—and The Blackstone gave it all the perfect frame. From the romantic portraits to the lush floral installations in front of stained-glass windows, every image feels elevated and full of life. 

Planned and designed by Northwest Weddings, this styled shoot focused on the rich and ornate details inside the English Room, one of The Blackstone’s intimate spaces (perfect for up to 80 people for a seated dinner). Originally part of an 18th-century English manor house, the English Room was carefully imported and reconstructed within The Blackstone Hotel in 1910. With its mahogany walls, black and white checkered marble floors, ornate plasterwork, and colorful stained glass windows, the space exudes the timeless charm of an exclusive private club.
