This is Yolanda and Rogelio’s story. They first met at the tender age of 16. They were both working at their first job, Jewel-Osco. Even though they never dated they had remained in touch and after some time had gone by, they began dating. Yolanda and Rogelio were married at Our lady of Guadalupe Church this past Saturday. Yolanda’s parents first attended this church when they moved to Chicago from Mexico.
Yolanda and Rogelio’s wedding was the first wedding the church had performed since the outbreak. The priest and his staff differently made sure we were all safe while attending the ceremony. The priest allowed almost all of the traditional Hispanic culture such as the Laso, Arras (coins), Bible and Rosary Blessing, and the Unity Candle. These moments were most important to the bride and groom. After the ceremony, the bride and groom enjoy a bubble exit and then we were off to Whiting lakefront Park, Indiana for portraits.
I had such a great time spending the afternoon with Yolanda and Rogelio and their family and friends. I loved shooting their wedding portraits with the sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan in the background. The park area is stunning and full of overgrown trees and grassy hills. This is my second time shooting at Whiting Lakefront Park and I have to say it never disappoints. Whiting Indiana Engagement Session.

What an absolutely gorgeous church. You did a fantastic job. I got chills!
This is absolutely stunning. I love seeing couples that are still choosing to celebrate love, and not let it be overshadowed by a pandemic!
I am so glad they were able to move forward with their wedding! Many blessings for them!
Their ceremony was captured beautifully! (And I love the photos by the water!)
