Their celebration at Walden Chicago was filled with heartfelt moments, meaningful traditions, and the kind of quiet joy that reminds you what a wedding day is truly about. Every detail reflected who they are as a couple, from the people they chose to stand beside them to the special moments honoring loved ones who couldn’t be there in person.

Why Walden Chicago Is Such a Beautiful Wedding Venue

Located in Chicago’s West Loop, Walden Chicago offers a wonderful balance of modern elegance and historic character. The venue’s beautiful architecture, natural light, and thoughtfully designed spaces create an incredible backdrop for both intimate moments and lively celebrations.

One of my favorite parts of the day was beginning with Raquel and Miguel’s private first look. Before the excitement of the ceremony began, they were able to slow down, take a deep breath, and simply enjoy being together. Those quiet moments often become some of the most meaningful photographs from the entire wedding day.

And then came one of my favorite surprises…

Their sweet pup, Dune, joined us for portraits, making the day even more personal and memorable. Including beloved pets in a wedding day always creates genuine moments that couples treasure for years.

Portraits at the University of Chicago and the Art Institute

After their first look, we explored two of Chicago’s most iconic portrait locations: the University of Chicago and the Art Institute of Chicago.

One of the unexpected advantages of a Sunday wedding is how much calmer the city feels. With fewer crowds and quieter streets, we had the freedom to create portraits without constantly working around heavy foot traffic. It gave Raquel and Miguel the chance to truly enjoy their time together while we captured a beautiful variety of images throughout the afternoon.

A Wedding Centered Around Family and Love

While every wedding has beautiful details, what stood out most about Raquel and Miguel’s celebration was the love that surrounded them.

Their day was filled with thoughtful touches that honored the people who helped shape their lives. Family and close friends played meaningful roles throughout the celebration, creating a ceremony that felt incredibly personal and heartfelt.

There were moments of laughter, moments of reflection, and moments that reminded everyone in attendance that love continues to connect us across generations.
