April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. What do snow showers bring in late April, I wonder? A few days before Leslie & Daniel’s wedding we were all keeping a close eye on the weather, as a “winter” storm was headed to the midwest. A few flakes would have been just fine but the day of the wedding we had rain, wind and heavy snow. It was bitterly cold out, and all I could think about was poor Leslie and how I hoped she wouldn’t let this unexpected winter storm get her down on her big day. I headed up to the front door where all the ladies were getting ready, and to my surprise, everyone was in a terrific mood! When you walked in laughter and love were all you felt.

The wedding ceremony was held at the church of St. Maria Goretti. This was not my first Catholic wedding. It was my first where the wedding was open to other church members. The church was brimming with patrons, and the atmosphere was full of excitement for Leslie & Daniel’s wedding ceremony to begin. Daniel was the sweetest groom, and couldn’t hold back his tears when his beautiful bride walked down the aisle on her father’s arm.

After the ceremony and some family portraits, it was off to the Centennial Park in Munster, IND for the reception! Leslie & Daniel decided against having the traditional reception meal and went with a breakfast buffet! Leslie loves breakfast, and this was truly a unique way to make their wedding even more personal, and about who they are as a couple. The meal was a hit, and the night went off without a hitch, except for the fire alarm going off during their meal, but the head table just rocked out to the alarm! Nothing was going to bring down this wedding. My favorite part of this entire day was when Daniel went to get the garter from Leslie’s thigh. I won’t say anything further because the photos are worth a thousand words 🙂
