Classic Chicago Engagement Session: These engagement photos taken on the Gold Coast truly capture my heart! Bethany & Craig, an extraordinary couple, initially felt shy about posing in front of the camera. I empathize deeply; it can indeed be daunting! Yet, as their photographer, it’s both my duty and honor to ensure they feel completely at ease and poised during the shoot. By offering guidance on poses and providing engaging prompts, I help bring out their best smiles.
As soon as we began, Bethany & Craig effortlessly adapted to the camera. Their genuine affection and mutual respect shone brightly throughout the session.
The story of how Bethany & Craig met is quite charming—they first connected online. Initially, their relationship wasn’t planned to be serious since Craig would be relocating from Chicago in just five months. Despite this, Craig’s determination won Bethany over as he continued pursuing her until she reciprocated his feelings. Following a year of long-distance dating, Bethany moved to Washington, DC, to join Craig, leading to their engagement. Bethany humorously admits, “As often as I am right in our relationship, he was right about the most crucial aspect—us.”
To commemorate their engagement, we ventured to Chicago’s illustrious Gold Coast to photograph some iconic architecture before heading to North Ave Beach for spectacular skyline shots against Lake Michigan’s backdrop. Despite battling strong winds and overcast skies, we captured enduring images that they will treasure forever.
Currently planning a wedding for August 2025 at the RNC in Chicago, Bethany, and Craig are using these breathtaking photos of their cherished city as excitement-builders for their special day. It’s a joy and a pleasure for me to contribute to this milestone in their lives.

I take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure a deeply personalized experience. If you’re planning a wedding in Chicago or the Midwest and want photography that feels intentional, supportive, and emotionally true to your day, I’d love to hear about what you’re imagining.
