A few months ago my good friend Anamaria from Anamaria Vieriu Photography asked me to shoot her client’s wedding. Due to Covid and some family members’ illness, Anamaria was to stay in Romania for an extended amount of time. Due to this, she needed a photographer she could trust to photograph her client’s Elopement. This was my first experience shooting another photographer’s client and I admit I was a bit nervous going into this situation. My whole brand is based on my client’s experience. The connection we make and how well we get along. With this new client, we had no contact, never even talked over the phone.
All my fears were put to rest the moment I walked into Jamie’s parents’ home. Everyone was so glad I was able to come and be apart of this special day. Jamie was just the most gracious bride and so lovely to be around. I started the morning as per usual. Bridal detail shots and bride getting ready. The bridal shots were extra special to Jamie because she got ready in her childhood bedroom. So sweet!! We continued onto the front of Jamie’s parents’ home and captured some fun images of the girls hanging out and then onto the Church for the ceremony.
I had never met Alex, the groom before the ceremony begins. In fact, I didn’t get to even speak to him until after they were wed and we began family portraits. Again, all unusual for me but the family was so wonderful and because I had a detailed shot list and info on the family, we were able to get through the day with such ease.
We ended our time in a field across the street from the church. Our options were very limited. We had the church parking lot, private residents to our right, and a shopping center to the left. Really limited options lol But with a good eye and experience, no location is ever out of reach. There was a side field running along the back of some residential homes. Perfect! My second shooter and I were able to capture some beautiful images of the bride and her groom and their bridal party. I was so glad to be able to help out a fellow photographer and friend in need as well as meet another incredible couple during this pandemic. Hope you all enjoy it. Midwest Wedding Photographers
