As the final wedding of my 2024 season, Lupe and Rick’s River Roast wedding in downtown Chicago was nothing short of perfect. This autumn day brought a touch of rain, setting a romantic atmosphere that beautifully complemented their classic, heartfelt ceremony and lively reception. Having worked with Lupe and her talented family of florists at a previous wedding, I was thrilled to capture her own special day after she and her sister, Paula, reached out, inspired by my work.

St. Paul’s Catholic Church

Their ceremony took place at the stunning St. Paul’s Catholic Church, a timeless choice for a couple who embraces tradition. During the ceremony, Lupe and Rick honored their culture with the ceremonial lasso and virgin bouquet offerings, adding an emotional touch that reflected the depth of their love and family ties. Every moment felt authentic, underscoring the beautiful journey they’ve shared.

Rick and Lupe decided not to have a first look, which allowed us to capture some extraordinary night shots in downtown Chicago. Just as the sun set, we made it to the cityscape, where the skyline glowed against the rainy night. I’m so grateful they chose this route; the resulting photos are stunning—rain and all! The weather only enhanced the magic of the night, making every shot feel timeless and cinematic.

River Roast Wedding Photos

Their reception at River Roast was everything an intimate celebration should be, with their closest friends and family gathered to dance, laugh, and toast to the happy couple. River Roast remains one of my favorite venues to shoot at in Chicago, with its warm, inviting ambiance and incredible views of the river and cityscape. The dance floor was packed all night, and the energy never wavered, making it an unforgettable night for everyone present. To top it off, we ended with a stunning streamer exit that perfectly captured the joy of the day.
