A Gorgeous Autumn Wedding at Bridgeport Art Center

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day than Helen and Steven’s wedding day at Bridgeport Art Center. It was one of the most beautiful autumn days Chicago had seen in awhile, and the love and warmth surrounding these two was truly special.  Their downtown Chicago wedding day, including portraits at the Wrigley Building, was filled with personal details and heartfelt moments that reflected the couple’s genuine spirits.

Helen and Steven are the dream couple for any wedding photographer—kind, welcoming, and effortlessly beautiful. I first met them during their sunset engagement session at North Avenue Beach, and I couldn’t wait to capture their Bridgeport Art Center wedding.

First Look & Pre-Wedding Portraits at the Wrigley Building

Helen and Steven’s wedding day began with a touching first look at the hotel where they got ready—a private moment filled with excitement and emotion. We then headed to the iconic Wrigley Building for some elegant outdoor couple portraits and wedding party photos. Every image perfectly captured the essence of their relationship—classic yet full of joy. 

After the wedding party arrived at Bridgeport Art Center, Helen and her father had a special first look moment just before the ceremony began. 

Emotion-Filled Ceremony in the Sculpture Garden

Held within Bridgeport Art Center’s Sculpture Garden, Helen and Steven’s wedding ceremony was nothing short of magical. As they exchanged personal vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Their words were filled with love, sincerity, and a deep connection that had everyone feeling the emotion. 

Steven’s parents, who are no longer with us, were honored in the most beautiful way. Reserved chairs were placed for them, adorned with their photos and flowers, ensuring their presence was felt throughout the day. One of the most heartwarming moments was when Helen and Steven’s adorable dog, Nari, walked down the aisle. It was such a sweet addition to the ceremony.

Intimate Reception in the Skyline Loft

Heading up to Bridgeport Art Center’s Skyline Loft for their reception, Helen and Steven’s celebration continued with an intimate guest list of their closest friends and family. This beautiful space, filled with rustic wooden details and exposed brick, was decorated with dusty mauve and white florals perfect for an autumn wedding. 

Friends and family gave some of the most heartfelt speeches I’ve witnessed—sharing about Helen and Steven’s kindness, generosity, and the deep bond they share. When it was time to hit the dance floor, the energy was contagious. Everyone was on their feet, dancing and celebrating into the night.
